Write an Effective Internet Job |
A Job posted on the Internet can be cost effective and it can reach a wide audience in a very short period of time. It is important that your Job be written in a way to reach the most possible candidates.
- Put key words in the title as well as the body of your Job posting. Job Seekers do key word searches of our Job Database, and by including key words in both the title and job details you improve the possibility of attracting more candidates. Be less concerned with the actual title and stress the function of the title. Example:
Newspaper Ad - Analyst II
Internet Ad - ORACLE Systems Analyst for new development
- Do not use abbreviations. Unlike newspapers, we do not charge you by the word. You will have better results using whole words.
- The more details you provide will both identify qualified candidates and eliminate those candidates who are not qualified. Be very specific on required job skills and minimum levels of experience.
- Use this as an opportunity to sell both the position and your company. List exceptional benefits which separate you from your competitors. It may be that you have flex time or day care facilities.
- Do not use all capital letters. Write in clear, easy to read sentences.
A little extra time in writing an Internet Ad can greatly increase the number of qualified candidates who respond.
